ABOUT US
Sparcx (PTY) LTD is a newly established, 100% black, military veteran owned and managed multi-disciplinary engineering competency house focussing on the Aerospace and Defence (A&D) sectors. Sparcx concentrates on the total value chain of product development from requirements gathering and specification, design, (rapid) prototyping, industrialisation, commercialisation, deployment, maintenance and support.
Sparcx was established in 2015 with a view to address some of the needs of sovereign and strategic capabilities as detailed in the Strategic Defence Review. It is headed up by Sujo Mulamattathil who has extensive experience across the Defence sector ranging from the strategic to the tactical.
Sparcx is based in Pretoria, South Africa and is well on it’s way to establish itself as a market leader in the provisioning of Engineering services to the A&D sectors.

Our Services
All electrical and mechanical design and development work is done in-house to client requirements. Quality, testability and maintainability are all designed in from the start. We are also responsible for product design, industrialisation and compilation of documentation packs including custom test process and equipment design.

Electronic Warfare and RADAR sub-systems
The use of the Instantaneous Frequency Measurement (IFM) sub-system has become common-place within the aerospace and maritime industries due to the increased threat potential presented to aircraft and water vessels, by weapon systems relying on modern radar technologies. In addition to this the future battlespace will utilise the IFM component on the land-based vehicles as well and it will be a key source of tactical information within the deployed battle-space.
Industrialisation of Designs
Ou objective is to architect a visionary design methodology and manufacturing technique for IFM receivers that will increase production yields, decrease time to market, improve performance of operation by setting a new industry benchmark in speed of detection and provide consistent performance.
Real-Time, Deterministic Data-Distribution & Communication sub-systems
Modern Aerospace and Defence Systems typically consist of multiple sub-systems interconnected with each other over a data distribution network; e.g. Electromechanical Drive Systems, Flight Systems, Fire Directing Systems, Battle Field Management System, etc.

We provide turn-key manufacturing as a solution. We follow a rigorous industry leading good practice approach that provides both cost and process benefits. This allows for the immediate implementation of any solution within the business. This approach allows us to take a solution through various readiness levels until the solution is completely field tested and fully ready for deployment within the business.
Real-Time Geospatial Situational Awareness and Visualization systems
The aerospace and defence sector are placing an increased demand on industry to provide decision makers in the field with key knowledge on the geographical location of critical assets, and the ability to effectively visualise an asset’s immediate environment, together with the location, status and state of any potential threats.
